It's here!

Hello bloggers!

The day/week is finally here. Preview of the show is today and tomorrow and official opening night is Friday! We had an invited dress rehearsal on Monday and the crowd loved it. I was kind of nervous... actually very nervous! I still get nervous! This nervousness though is because I think we are so close to the audience... I can nearly touch them! Plus the fact that I am doing a lot more belting than usual. I just hope people like it.
The good thing is that I have supportive castmates (who are amazing singers themselves) and I found a voice teacher out here (yay!) Yes, I have a vocal teacher. What may be surprising to many is that many professional singers have vocal teachers/coaches that they go to a few times throughout the year to make sure they are still producing the proper sound that they are supposed to and using the proper technique. Even college professors go and get a lesson or two every now and again to have a second opinion on their vocal abilities!
Well, I must admit, as much as I love being in Ashland, today was the first day I had a slight (very slight) nostalgia for New York. I attempted to go shopping with the cast and didn't find one thing that I like nor was I willing to pay for. *Sigh* but I will try somewhere else tomorrow... the one thing I do miss are the great deals I find in NYC... they're just not here. Oh well... I still love the cafe's and the quietness!
Well I felt like keeping it short and sweet! Toodles... and peace and blessings.
